John Hughes is best known for the movies he made. He specialized in coming-of-age movies, gaining fame in the 1980s with such well-known films as The Breakfast Club and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Although a famous Hollywood director, he actually began his career as a writer for National Lampoon magazine in the 1970s.
