Pigs Is Pigs by Ellis Parker Butler is a funny story about a railway agent, Mike Flannery, who insists guinea pigs are livestock. He insists they are not pets, leading to a chaotic situation whereby two guinea pigs multiply like rabbits in his office.

Overwhelming him with Next thing you know there are thousands of them everywhere, and the whole place is in chaos. There have been many classic and inspiring adaptations, including a 1954 Disney cartoon.
