Angry Robot: Dedicated to the best in modern adult science fiction, fantasy and WTF!

Angry Robot publishes the very best in both Fantasy and Science Fiction. It is a source for new voices and stories that pushes the boundaries. Angry Robot authors have won awards from Hugos to the Arthur C. Clarke Award.

While Angry Robot is based in the UK, their books are sold all over the world through a partnership with Penguin Random House.  Angry Robot is both an eBook, audio and traditional print publisher.

About Angry Robot

Angry Robot was founded in 2009 by Marc Gascoigne. Based in Nottingham, UK, England, Angry Robot was created when Harper Collins decided they needed a new Sci-fi imprint. That partnership lasted barely a year, however, when Gascoigne purchased the imprint and took it independent.

In 2014, Angry Robot was sold to Watkins Media.

Angry Robot Publishing Submissions

Angry Robot Submissions

While Angry Robot is an independent publisher, they do require you have an agent before submitting. There are exceptions, however.

Unagented authors are welcome to submit their work during any Open Doors Submission period. To find these dates, please contact Angry Robot.

Other than that, be creative. Angry Robot is, after all, an independent publisher and able to make executive decisions. Be creative.

What They Are Looking for

Angry Robot is currently looking for novels only (around 70K words). They are not interested in other forms of fiction like novellas or short stories.

Angry Robot publishes adult fiction only, no teen or YA. They offer advances and royalties appropriate for a medium-sized publisher of good standing.

If so, Angry Robot wants to connect you with advance reading copies of their upcoming books, and with their authors for blog tours, interviews, podcasts and articles.
