Although purchased by Skyhorse in 2010, Arcade has been around since 1988. To date, the indie press has published works by 300 authors in 34 countries—500 titles in all.

Arcade has published literary giants such as Samuel Beckett, Leo Tolstoy, Octavio Paz, and E. M. Cioran alongside newer voices such as Andreï Makine and Ismail Kadare. In 2012, Chinese novelist Mo Yan was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature, an extremely exciting achievement.

In addition to its main list, Arcade now also issues Arcade Artists & Art, a series featuring books by and about artists, particularly of the modern period.

Jeannette Seaver, Founder, Leaves Arcade

Jeannette Seaver is stepping away from her longtime role as publisher and editor of Arcade Publishing and forming her own independent editorial firm, Seaver Editorial Consulting.

Seaver co-founded Arcade with her husband, editor and publisher Richard Seaver, back in 1989. After Seaver’s untimely death in 2009, Skyhorse Publishing acquiring its backlist.
