The 2026 Rubery Book Awards

An international book award that recognizes the best books by indie writers, self-published authors, and books published by independent presses. Open to all genres. Prizes include cash, a glass plaque, and a review on the website for all winners and shortlisted authors.

• Deadline: March 31
• Categories: Categories will be represented once all entries have been received. Each book will be judged on its own merit and the correct category. They may not be able to represent ALL categories to give prizes to, as it depends greatly on the quality and quantity of entries received. If your book is in a category that isn’t represented in the final line-up, please be assured that it was not at a disadvantage at all and was judged in the category it was entered under.
• Prizes: Book of the Year = £2,000; Category Winners = £200. Every winner receives a glass plaque and all winners & shortlisted authors receive a write up.​

Entries received after this deadline will automatically be considered for the 2027 awards.

Entries must be either self-published or published by an independent press. Both authors and publishers are welcome to submit books.

To complete your entry, please fill out the online entry form, send us a copy of your book, and pay the required entry fee. Full details can be found here.
