The 2026 Selfies Book Awards have gone global for 2026, opening entries to English-language independent authors worldwide, not just those based in the UK. Previously restricted to UK residents or books published in the UK, this expansion allows international participation across fiction, children’s/YA, and memoir categories.

• Deadline: March 31
• Categories: Adult fiction, children’s, or memoir (published in 2025) – there is no longer a nonfiction category
• Prizes: Winners in each of the three categories receive a cash prize of £750, a profile in BookBrunch, advertising, a winner’s certificate, and other benefits

The Selfies Book Awards were set up in 2018 by book trade journal BookBrunch to recognise and reward the fantastic work being done by the many highly professional self-published authors working in the UK today. Sponsored by IngramSpark, and supported by Nielsen BookData, Alli, LitPR, The Combined Book Exhibit and New Generation Publishing, this initiative aims to discover new talent and reward the very best self-published titles each year.

The Selfies Book Awards are judged on the following criteria:

• A fantastic story that entertains and delights the reader
• A well produced book
• An enticing cover and blurb that successfully addresses the target audience
• An effective and creative marketing and publicity strategy that has the potential to achieve great sales

Prizes:
The winners in each of the three categories will receive a cash prize of £750, a profile in BookBrunch, advertising, a winner’s certificate, inclusion in a PR campaign and other benefits.
