7.13 Books Submissions

No agent required.

7.13 is currently reading submissions for publication in 2026 and beyond. They publish 2-5 books a year. 7.13 is looking for writers who have not yet published a book of literary fiction. Query first.

7.13 is looking for novels and short-story collections that the Big Five seem to have lost all interest in.

Not looking for: YA, Middle Grade, New Adult, multi-book Science Fiction and/or Fantasy series, and Romance. 7.13 Books publishes Adult Literary Fiction.

*There is a $5 reading fee, but that seems fair. In the old days we had to buy paper and envelopes and stamps. Besides, it keeps the unserious out.

Letter from the publisher

Is your story like mine?

Are you losing hope?

Increasingly, the Big Five prefer the blockbuster genres. That’s why independent and university presses have proliferated to fill the gap.
