Flashbytes are perfect for those brief outbreaks of mental awareness. Read Flashbytes while you’re waiting at the doctor’s office, the DMV, even dropping a deuce. After all, most songs last 5 minutes or less; why not read a story instead?
While Flashbytes is a promotional forum for aspiring and established authors, we don’t actually publish those stories here. Instead, we set up a page for the author, a quick intro line, then link their work wherever they have it published on the web.
Our goal is not only to publish links to the best stories we can find, but to then promote them so everyone can see the great talent we’ve gathered here. Flashbytes have been featured in such online publications as Number Eleven, Squawk Back, Crack the Spine, Blotter, even Forbes.com. We plan on doing a lot more of this.
Flashbytes is the brain child of 20th-century holdouts Philip Loyd and Chris Hlad. We are a gathering of writers who help support one another. We also work with you to help promote your writing through social media and major publications and websites.
We also know quite a few agents, editors, and publishers in the biz. We even have an extensive spreadsheet of agents and independent publishers we’ll be happy to share with you. Over 800 of them, all up to date. We work together because we know: we’re all in this together.

Before trying his hand at fiction, Philip Loyd spent a lifetime as a financial and insurance writer, contributing to Forbes, McGraw Hill, and Jim Kramer’s The Street, among others. Loyd now writes fiction and reference books exclusively.
