Two Dollar Radio is a family-run, independent publisher based in Columbus, Ohio. Specializing in literary fiction, it was founded in 2005 by husband-and-wife team Eric Obenauf and Eliza Jane Wood-Obenauf, with Brian Obenauf. In 2013, they launched their micro-budget film division, Two Dollar Radio “Moving Pictures.”

In 2017 they co-founded the annual Columbus, Ohio, arts festival The Flyover Fest. In September, the press opened a brick-and-mortar named Two Dollar Radio Headquarters on the south side of Columbus, Ohio, which is a bookstore, full bar, performance space, and vegan coffeehouse and cafe, carrying Two Dollar Radio titles as well as a selection of almost exclusively independently published books.

In April 2025, Two Dollar Radio was acquired by Seven Stories Press, becoming the New York-based independent publisher’s fourth imprint. The press remains independent, with Eric Obenauf and Eliza Jane Wood-Obenauf retaining their editorial roles. Obenauf and Wood-Obenauf retain ownership of Two Dollar Radio Headquarters.

Two Dollar Radio is distributed in the US and Canada by PGW, and in the UK by Turnaround Publisher Services.

Seven Stories Press Acquires Two Dollar Radio

Dan Simon, the publisher of Seven Stories Press in New York City, and Eric Obenauf, the publisher of Two Dollar Radio in Columbus, Ohio, have announced that Seven Stories has acquired Two Dollar Radio… Obenauf remains publisher and editorial director, while his spouse, Eliza Wood-Obenauf, remains consulting editor.

Brett Gregory will continue to coordinate marketing and publicity for Two Dollar Radio, and also serve as marketing and publicity manager for Seven Stories. The trio will work remotely from Columbus… Reflecting upon the acquisition—the first in Seven Stories’ 30-year history—Simon said both presses ‘are kind of alternative in the best sense.'”
