Meet Brian Lam, Publisher of Arsenal Press
Brian Lam (Publisher), a graduate of the University of Victoria’s creative writing program, has been with Arsenal since 1984, becoming co-owner of the company in 1992.
Lam is a former president of the Association of Book Publishers of British Columbia and the Association of Canadian Publishers, and a former board members of the Association for the Export of Canadian Books.

Unsolicited submissions welcome. No agent required.
AP is considering manuscripts in the following subject areas only:
– Books by BIPOC and LGBTQ2S+ author
– Literary fiction and non-fiction
– Political/sociological studies
– Cultural studies
– Regional (BC) non-fiction
– Graphic novels and graphic non-fiction
– Kid’s
– Craft books
– AP is not interested in:
– Self-help
– Business
– Genre fiction
Visual works, including graphic novels/non-fiction and children’s picture books, should include sample illustrated pages.

Something, Not Nothing: Eisner Award Finalist
Something, Not Nothing: A Story of Grief and Love by Sarah Leavitt is a finalist for the Eisner Awards. It is a finalist in the category of Memoir, alongside such other nominees as Pulitzer Prize winner Feeding Ghosts: A Graphic Memoir by Tessa Hulls.
Nominations for the 2025 Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards are for works published during 2024 and were chosen by a blue-ribbon panel of judges. The Eisner Award trophies will be presented in a gala awards ceremony to be held at the San Diego Hilton Bayfront Hotel during Comic-Con on July 25.
