About Baraka Books

Baraka Books is a Quebec-based, English-language book publisher specializing in creative and political non-fiction, history and historical fiction. The term Baraka is used in many languages and cultures and, depending on the language, can mean blessing, wisdom, luck, and more.

Baraka Books is committed to providing English-speaking readers in Canada and elsewhere with ideas, points of view and creative works that might otherwise be overlooked because of cultural or linguistic barriers.

QC Fiction, founded by Peter McCambridge, is the fiction imprint that brings the very best of Quebec storytellers in English translation.

Baraka Books Submissions

Unsolicited submissions accepted. No agent required.

Baraka Books publishes about ten titles a year and their imprint QC Fiction publishes three books in translation from French each year.

To submit, please send synopsis and sample chapters only. Will reply if complete ms is requested.
