Coach House Books is an independent book publisher located in Toronto, Canada. Coach House publishes experimental poetry, fiction, drama and non-fiction. The press is particularly interested in writing that pushes at the boundaries of convention.
Coach House Books is a collaborative operation involving a regular staff and an ever-changing number of people from the writing, artistic and publishing communities.

Unsolicited submissions welcome. No agent required.
Coach House publishes innovative poetry, literary fiction, drama and select non-fiction. They do not publish Kid’s books, cookbooks, fantasy, historical romances, memoirs, mysteries, science fiction, or self-help books.
For fiction submissions, send complete ms. For non-fiction submissions, please send synopsis and sample chapters.

Acquisitions
Amiante by Sebastian Dulude (Fiction) – Using precise, sensual language, Sébastien Dulude tells the story of a fragile, flammable youth in a working-class American Dream that is losing momentum.
Property by Kate Cayley (Fiction) – A literary novel taking place over the course of a single day in an uneasily gentrifying urban neighborhood, where paths cross and re-cross on the small network of streets; conflicts of personality, privilege, and past history explode; and by evening, someone will die.
Meet the Editors
Stan Bevington (Publisher) – Stan is the founder and the original publisher of The Coach House Press in 1965. He is also the sole proprietor of Coach House Printing Ltd, a printer of fine books for the book trade since 1965. He has won numerous awards for design and is a pioneer in the use of computer technology in the realms of design, publishing and printing.
Alana Wilcox (Editorial Director) – Alana is responsible for acquisitions and editing, as well as overseeing day-to-day operations. She is the author of A Grammar of Endings (The Mercury Press, 2000).
Crystal Sikma (Managing Editor) Crystal is responsible for turning manuscripts into the books. She previously worked at Bellevue Literary Press and the literary agency Writers House before landing at Coach House.
