About Chatwin Books
Chatwin Books was founded in Seattle in 2014 by an artist named Annie and a bookseller named Phil. Today, the team remains small but mighty. In 2018, Chatwin acquired their own printing facilities and now produces the majority of their publications in-house.
Chatwin books cater to a wide range of readers: kayakers, parents, artists, actors, climbers, gardeners, pet owners, readers (of course), and engaged citizens.
Chatwin is a zest for life, exploration and constant learning, a diverse curiosity about the world and the peoples in it. Founder Bruce Chatwin (1940–1989), whose books have long inspired us as readers, will always be in the hearts of Chatwin readers.
Chatwin Books is committed to environmental and social justice in manufacturing and sourcing. “We never have and never will print in China. We print exclusively on FSC-certified paper and sourced locally. Chatwin is about lifting up their Indigenous neighbors by amplifying their voices through publishing.”
Chatwin publishes Fiction, Non-fiction, Memoir, Essays, Kid’s, YA, Poetry. Pretty much everything literary.
