Blouse and Skirt is the Jamaican term used to express euphoria, awe, and admiration. These are the ideals behind Blouse & Skirt Books, an imprint of Blue Banyan Books.

Based in Kingston, Jamaica, Blouse & Skirt publishes radical and riveting poetry and prose by some of the best writers coming out of the Caribbean today. Blouse & Skirt uncovers, discovers, and recovers Caribbean writers with something to say, who say it well, and say it often.

From romance to history, drama to fantasy, memoir to mysteries – Blouse & Skirt Books focuses on works for adults.

Unsolicited submissions welcome. No agent required.

Blouse & Skirt is looking for bold and riveting writing, by voices that have something to say and can say it differently. They want writing that makes the reader sit up and take notice.

Blouse & Skirt publishes fiction (adult and young adult), and is especially interested in memoir and biographies. For adult fiction, they will consider both literary and genre works, including speculative fiction, fantasy and noir.
