Blue Ink Press was established in Raleigh, North Carolina in 2015. Blue Ink Press was formed to help authors navigate the daunting and confusing world of publishing. While their focus was initially middle grade and young adult books, they now represent authors of all genres and are actively seeking new works to expand their catalogue.
Blue Ink Press Submissions
Unsolicited submissions welcome. No agent required.
Submissions open March 2026. They are looking for authors of adult fiction, non-fiction, and middle grade. Must live in NC or a southern state. Anywhere in or around the South.
No poetry, memoir or children’s books. No short story collections

Meet the Editors
Amanda Gawthorpe (Senior Editor) – Amanda has a BA in English from North Carolina State University. Before joining the Blue Ink Press team as Senior Editor, she spent years working as a freelancer and as Lead Editor at a Seattle-based publishing company.
Stephanie Douglas (Acquisitions Editor) – Stephanie graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in Journalism and Mass Communication with a concentration in English. Stephanie is excited to be able to pursue her passion for literature by serving as Acquisitions Editor for Blue Ink Press.
Christa Leonhart (Associate Editor) Christa has a BA in English Literature from North Carolina State and has also served as a news desk editor at a local press release distribution company.
Morgan Stanley (Associate Editor) Morgan earned undergraduate degrees in English and Communication Studies before embarking on a career as a Communications Consultant for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in Washington, D.C. There she also attended Johns Hopkins University for a graduate degree in Communication Studies. Close behind drinking coffee and reading with her children, Morgan’s other favorite pastimes include sifting through words, refining sentence structure, and strengthening content.
Liz Sheth (Associate Editor) – Liz is a home educator and editor in Willow Spring. She enjoys thoroughly ignoring her writing projects by helping other writers with their own. When she’s not reading, she’s probably trying to find someone to talk about books with.

Author Spotlight: Tabitha Caplinger
Tabitha Caplinger is the author of The Chronicle of the Three Trilogy, The Wolf Queen, and, most recently, The Wayward. She is a lover of good stories and helping others live chosen.
When she’s not writing book words, she’s reheating her coffee, binging a new show, or teaching God’s Word to young adults.
