The 2026 Write the World Personal Essay Competition invites young writers (ages 13-19) to share personal stories, focusing on the theme ‘Build a bridge.’ Participants are encouraged to include characters, descriptions, and narrative details. share a story from your own life.

Founded in 2012 at Harvard University, Write the World, Inc. is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to equipping teenagers with the confidence and competence to change the world, one word at a time.

Write the World, developed by David Weinstein – who’s currently working at Harvard University, is dedicated to improving the writing of high school students through a global online community and guided interactive process.
