Launched in 2022, Calon is the University of Wales Press’s non-fiction imprint, bringing the many varied and fascinating stories of Wales to new audiences around the world. Calon titles include a vast array of topics – ranging from food to folklore, music to memoir, travel and nature writing, and much more.

Calon Books Submissions
Calon is open for submissions. No agent needed.
Calon is currently open to submissions from both agents and authors. They are looking for non-fiction books aimed at a general readership, with a link to Wales or to Welsh history and culture. Calon does not, however, have to be entirely focused on Wales, and they welcome submissions from authors of all nationalities and backgrounds.
Submission guidelines can be found on their website. Please send your proposal to Katherine Venn, Publisher: katherine.venn@press.wales.ac.uk
Calon is supported by the Books Council of Wales.
