About Atlantic Books
Founded in February 2000 by Toby Mundy, Atlantic Books was originally the UK subsidiary of Grove/Atlantic. Grove/Atlantic sold a majority stake in the company in 2009. Allen & Unwin became the majority owner in 2014.
Atlantic Books is a founding member of the Independent Alliance, a global alliance of ten UK publishers and their international partners. In 2009, Atlantic Books joined with Australian publishers Allen & Unwin, giving them direct access to the Australian market.

For 2025/2026, Atlantic Fiction is opening its submissions inbox to unagented literary writers. We’re not sure how long this will last. Check their Submissions page, or email the editors for more details. This is for Fiction submissions only.
For open submissions, Atlantic Books is interested in complete novels, extensive partials or short stories. All submissions should come with a one-line pitch and a one paragraph pitch, outlining the submission.

Rob Temple Moves to Atlantic in 2-book Deal
Rob Temple, bestselling author and creator of Very British Problems, has moved to Atlantic Books in a two-book deal. The first, A Very British Christmas: Your Festive Survival Guide, publishes in hardback October 2025 on the Allen & Unwin UK imprint. World Rights were acquired from Juliet Mushens of Mushens Entertainment.
Atlantic has confirmed an exclusive edition for independent bookshops and will involve booksellers and readers in an expansive marketing and publicity campaign.
