Cormorant Books is a Canadian book publisher specializing in fiction by new and emerging Canadian writers, reissues of out-of-print classics of Canadian literature, and English translations of works by Quebec writers.

Cormorant Books was founded in 1986 by a Canadian couple, Jan and Gary Geddes, on their farm outside of Dunvegan, Ontario. Their mission was to introduce new Canadian writers to the literary scene. Cormorant is currently based in Toronto.

Unsolicited submissions okay. No agent required.

Cormorant publishes mystery novels. Literary fiction, too. For non-fiction, categories include political science, bio and autobiographies, business & economics and history.

Cormorant only publishes Canadian authors. Cormorant is currently only accepting submissions for adult fiction and non-fiction.

Please do not send complete ms. Synopsis and sample chapters only. Submit to: Cormorant Books via CanSubmit.

Famous Blue by Nicholas Pullen (Fiction) – Nicholas Pullen is back with Famous Blue, a queer literary university bildungsroman in the tradition of Donna Tartt, James Baldwin, and E.M. Forster.

Most Everyone Is Mad Here by Michael Rowe (Non-fiction) – Rowe explores ideas in contemporary culture from the personal to the political, on themes including the current state of queer life, the modern erosion of civil liberties, surviving the shackles of a religious cult, the power of chosen family.
