About Copper Canyon Press
Founded in 1972, Copper Canyon Press is a non-profit, independent poetry publisher based in Port Townsend, WA. Copper Canyon believes poetry is vital to language and living.
Since 1972, Copper Canyon Press has been publishing new collections of poetry, by both revered and emerging American poets, translations of classical and contemporary work from many of the world’s cultures, re-issues of out-of-print poetry classics, anthologies, and prose books about poetry. Copper Canyon has published over 400 titles.

Amanda Gunn: Amanda grew up just at the edge of the woods in southern Connecticut with two older brothers. She is a Wallace Stegner Fellow at Stanford, as well as a PhD candidate in English at Harvard where she studies poetry, ephemerality, and Black pleasure. Her recent work appears in Poetry, Los Angeles Review of Books Quarterly Journal, and Narrative Magazine.
Shuri Kido: Shuri Kido, known as the “far north poet,” has published a lot of poetry books and essays and is one of the most important contemporary poets in Japan. He has translated many English poems into Japanese and has introduced works by Ezra Pound and T. S. Eliot to Japan. Kido has been a critic and columnist for various magazines and newspapers and has a profound knowledge of Japanese culture.
Jane Huffman: Jane’s debut poetry collection, PUBLIC ABSTRACT, was the winner of the 2023 APR/Honickman first book prize. Her poems have been published in The New Yorker, Poetry Magazine, The Nation, and elsewhere, and she was the recipient of a 2019 Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg fellowship from the Poetry Foundation.
