The Week in Books: July 20 – July 26

Where to start. About six on the way to book conference and another nine at book conference. And I’m writing this before our day out in Bath where we intend to visit even more book shops.

Thanks for the great rec!

About Verity

About Verity

I’m Verity, a journalist with a long commute which leaves me with a plenty of time to indulge in my massive book habit.  I started this blog to try and make myself keep track of the state of my to-read pile backlog – after my mum told me she gets worried if she has more than 10 books waiting to be read – when I have over 50 paperbacks alone.

I’ve loved books and stories since my parents first started reading stories to me, and these days I get through a frightening number of books.  I read lots of different things and go through phases of reading a lot of the same genre.  My guilty pleasure is historical fiction – the sort you get from the States with scantily clad heroines on the front cover.  They live a shamefaced existence on the top shelf of one of my spare room book cases.

My favourite authors include Dorothy L Sayers, Laurie Graham, Georgette Heyer, Jasper Fforde, Terry Pratchett, Elizabeth Peters and Elinor M Brent Dyer (I told you I read a lot of different genres).

Find me on Goodreads to get a blow-by-blow account of what I’m reading.

I’m on Twitter and Instagram  where you’ll find out probably more than you wanted to know about my train company (Twitter) and what I’m cooking (Instagram).

If you want to get in touch, Twitter is your best option.

Thanks!
