WINNER – French-American Translation Prize, 2025
Biblioasis is a Canadian independent bookstore and publishing company, based in Windsor, Ontario.
Founded by Dan Wells as a bookstore in 1998, the company began publishing books in 2004 with poetry collections by Salvatore Ala and Goran Simić.
Biblioasis has gone on to become one of Canada’s most prestigious small press publishing houses. Biblioasis publishes 20 to 30 works of literary fiction, including short fiction collections, non-fiction, translation, and poetry per year.
Biblioasis Submissions
Unsolicited submissions welcome. OK to send complete ms.
There are no firm rules regarding styles and genres. However, they rarely consider fantasy, sci-fi, self-help, YA, cookbooks, picture books, or Kid’s books.
Electronic submissions only. To submit electronically, please email your manuscript as an attachment to submissions@biblioasis.com.
SUBMISSIONS UPDATE
Starting September 2025, Biblioasis will only be accepting submissions through Duosuma. Unsolicited manuscripts sent directly to the submissions@biblioasis.com email address will be deleted unread.

THE HOLLOW BEAST wins the French-American Translation Prize!
The prestigious French-American Foundation announces that Lazer Lederhendler, translator of The Hollow Beast by Christophe Bernard, is the winner of the 2025 French-American Translation Prize in Fiction.
Since 1986, the French-American Foundation has awarded the Translation Prize for the best translation from French to English in both fiction and non-fiction, guiding these important works of French literature to the American market. The prize is awarded to translators to recognize and celebrate their work.
